How and to what extent do religious leaders and local government officials interact with each other? And what are the outcomes of interactions between religious leaders and local government officials? Our team of social scientists is currently addressing these and other questions through surveys and interviews with religious leaders and government officials in communities across the United States. Our research is funded through the generous support of the Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Associations, the Louisville Institute, the National Science Foundation, and the Society for the Scientific Study of Religion.
